Meat/Egg Subscription Program
Subscribe in advance to receive three months of sustainably raised meats and eggs from Wood Duck Farm. Two choices are offered: 1) our Full Share ($210/3 mths.) and 2) our Poultry Share ($165/3 mths.) The Full Share will average about 11-12 lbs. and generally consist of one or two whole chickens, 30-40% ground meats (sausages, ground beef), a roast cut, and possibly a ham steak and/or Canadian Bacon. The Poultry Share each month will be comprised of approximately three young pastured chickens and Chicken sausage or "kid hotdogs", (made with no pork, beef or "weird" by products.) FYI 11 lb. shares will occupy about 1/4 space in an overhead "refrig" freezer. Too much meat for your family? Consider splitting a share with a friend.
Locations for Pick-Up? Shares will be packaged, frozen and delivered once per month to your choice of our pick up locations located in the Houston area which includes the Heights, Upper-Kirby, Kingwood, Green Way, the Woodlands, West Central Houston, West Chase, and more: Specific details/maps can be found on our website. Our animals enjoy a happy, chemical free life exposed to plenty of sunshine, grasses, roots and clean water. Our chickens, which diet on leftover micro green sprouts and wheat grass seedlings, roost in moveable coops for protection from predators such as hawks and foxes. Incidentally, our chicken coups are relocated every few days to insure exposure to fresh greens. Pigs have stomachs much like humans and cannot convert grass to energy very effectively, so rather than dine on full time pasture, they feed on acorns, supplemental feed and non-marketable produce, i.e. lettuce, arugula, squash etc . While we don't raise cattle, beef provided will be purchased from grass fed ranches requiring strict diets of living green forage, no grain supplements whatsoever. Our poultry and pork supplemental feeds are custom blended and contain no meat protein, nor corn GMO seeds.
